How to use Twitter to Get Recruited

What do coaches, players, recruits, schools, teams, and clubs have in common?



They all have Twitter!!!

Ok maybe not everyone has a twitter... but it is a lot better chance that someone has twitter installed on their phone with notifications enabled than them sitting in front of a computer with a recruiting software open.

Join on a platform that allows you to connect and communicate with coaches.

Oh, and it is free!

How to get started:

1. Build a profile
Have a good twitter handle (username):

Ideally your name, number, location, team
Complete bio:

Include stats, grad year, team, position, GPA, location, height, weight, link to video/profile

Your sports photos:

Include quality images of you in your sport as up to date as possible.

2. Tweet
Your video highlights:

Tweet your Youtube link, hudl link, or direct upload.
Your stats:

Link your online profile, updated spreadsheet, link to official stats website.
Your profile:

Link to an online profile, pdf download, hudl, other recruiting software.
Your news stories:

Any news articles about you or your team.
Announce your offers/visits:

Let other coaches/teammates know who is recruiting you.
Announce your commitment:

When ready to commit you can announce on twitter, easy place for everyone to get the message you are no longer in the recruiting process.

3. Follow
Coaches:

Head coaches, positions coaches, grad assistants.
Universities/Colleges:
Recruiting accounts:

Accounts help connect you with coaches and programs.

4. Engage
DM Coaches

Connect/introduce yourself with coaches via DM. Make sure your profile is good first!
Reply to Coaches

Coaches will tweet who they are looking for. Reply to their profile! 
Reply to Recruiting accounts.
